Lose weight naturally by changing your relationship with food in 2-4 appointments
Hello, I’m Ailsa Frank. I’m a hypnotherapist and former food stylist and recipe writer with over twenty years’ experience helping clients around the world to change their relationship with food so they can lose weight in a natural, sustainable way.
Most people know roughly what they “should” be eating. The real battle is in the mind: emotional eating, boredom snacking, comfort food in the evenings, overeating when stressed, or using sugar as a reward. Hypnotherapy works at the subconscious level to change these deep-rooted patterns so you can feel more balanced and in control around food.
“I still enjoy chocolate, but I don't eat the whole bar anymore!”
Hypnotherapy sessions restore balance to your relationship with food. Rather than another strict diet, weight loss jab or diet pill, we work on the underlying habits and emotions that drive overeating, so you can:
During your appointments, we deal with emotional and boredom eating. Everything you have experienced in the past has shaped your current eating habits. Even when you try to be “good,” the deep programme in your mind does what it knows, which is why you find yourself reaching for food automatically.
I originally worked in the food industry for 18 years as a Food Stylist and Recipe Writer, seeing first-hand how highly processed foods, huge portions and constant grazing affect people. That’s why I’m passionate about “fresh is best” and having a well-balanced relationship with food rather than yet another extreme diet.
“I have spent so much on diets over the years, but this was the best money I have ever spent. Now my mind feels in control. I don't need diets as I naturally just eat sensibly, and it feels good.”
Sue, London

Many people come to me after years of diets, weight loss jabs, diet pills, slimming clubs and strict plans. They are exhausted by the cycle of deprivation and then overeating.
Hypnotherapy weight loss appointments could be right for you if you recognise any of these:
I’ll guide you step by step to achieve lasting change.
At home on the phone: I connect with English-speaking clients worldwide (UK, Europe, USA, Australia) via phone or WhatsApp audio, which works exceptionally well for hypnotherapy.
In-Person: I also see clients face-to-face at clinics at the Portland Clinic in Wimpole Street, London (W1) or in St Albans.

90 Minutes: The first half is a relaxed discussion. We talk about what is going on in your life and what you want to work on. We discuss patterns, triggers and goals. In the second half, I guide you through a tailored hypnotherapy session to release root causes and begin making changes immediately. You can cover multiple issues in each session.

60–75 Minutes: These are usually spaced two weeks apart to reinforce the changes and address any new layers that come up. Each session deepens the changes. You can have a top up at time in the future. Some clients like to have regular sessions to deal with life , work and business issues as they arise.

I typically work with clients over 2 to 4 appointments. I believe in a bespoke approach, some hypnotherapists might try to sign you up for a long, expensive course. I don't work that way. I start with a minimum of two appointments, with further sessions booked only based on your individual needs.

I kept your advert for two years before I plucked up the courage to phone. You made it so easy, and I wish I had done the hypnotherapy years ago.
Helen, Maidenhead
My husband didn't want me to spend money on hypnotherapy, but he had no idea how I was feeling and how I just wanted to get in control of my eating. I can't believe I nearly didn't come because of him as it has been so brilliant and I have reduced down a dress size. The biggest learning is to make my own decisions, and now I have the confidence to do that, thank-you.
Melissa, Herts
I do feel better about myself, and I am not as focused on food.
Caroline, Bristol
Feeling good, thanks. Sleeping much better and eating in a more controlled way.
Hayley, Cardiff
I still enjoy chocolate, but I don't eat the whole bar anymore!
Zoe, York
I kept your advert for two years before I plucked up the courage to phone. You made it so easy, and I wish I had done the hypnotherapy years ago.
Julia, Norwich
Now I watch everyone in the office eating cakes and biscuits, and I feel in control as I don't even want them. I might have a sweet treat occasionally, but I don't feel guilty.
Sophie, Glasgow
I wish I had met you years ago. Now everything makes sense, and I am not battling with myself anymore. I will see you again for a top session when I need one to keep on track. Thanks.
Deborah, Exeter
The thought of not being able to have a pastry with my coffee in the morning would have made me depressed, but since the hypnotherapy, I just don't fancy one.
Tamsin, Belfast
The hypnotherapy session you did has been so positive for me. I no longer crave bread and can go without it for days at a time. I can pass it up at meals when it is on the table, but if I feel like having some, I do. I feel more in control of my eating now than I ever have before. When I am feeling hungry, I think about what my body needs, as opposed to what I want to taste, and I eat that. Often times, it is fruit or protein, cereal with yoghurt or porridge.
Melanie, Oxford
I have spent so much on diets over the years, but this was the best money I have ever spent. Now, my mind feels in control. I don't need diets as I naturally just eat sensibly, and it feels good.
Joanna, Liverpool
I have been working out regularly and finally feel back in balance.
Kirsty, Aberdeen
I have lost a couple of stones since the hypnotherapy and feel much more confident. I will be in touch for a top-up if I need it in the future. Thanks.
Felicity, Newcastle upon Tyne
I have stopped obsessing about weighing myself, which used to depress me. Now I focus on how my clothes feel, and as you say, the scales are for weighing my holiday suitcase!
Naomi, Sheffield
I haven't weighed myself as I am more concerned with how I feel than with what the scale says. My clothes are feeling looser, and I feel good getting dressed every day. Thanks so much, Ailsa, for helping me with this. I am totally amazed by the changes from the hypnotherapy.
Gemma, Cambridge
It is like I have become aware of my wants and needs about eating instead of just doing things out of habit.
Aimee, Bath
Things are going well at the moment with the self-hypnosis and your hypnosis download so I don't think I need to reschedule for the moment. Obviously, I'll shout if and when I think I need your help again. Thank you so much for your help and support to date. It has been incredibly powerful
Claudia, Ascot
Always been addicted to chocolate but no interest in chocolate since the session, amazing. I have told everyone.
Leona, Surrey
Since the session, I let go of chocolate cravings- one day, some ice cream was being handed out. I was thinking, oh, don't give me the chocolate one!
Natasha, Surrey
Dropped a dress size back to my normal size
Pippa, Berks
I have lost nearly 4 stone since the hypnotherapy, which is amazing as I didn't feel hypnotised during the sessions, just relaxed. My interest in takeaways has reduced, and I have been cooking, which really impressed my wife!
Dominic, Nottingham
I automatically stopped eating sweets, pastries, cakes, and wheat products. Overall, I have a healthier diet and would recommend it to all who lack willpower!
Arabella, Bucks
Thank you so much for Saturday. There has been a huge shift in me. A lot of emotions are coming up. My heart seems to be wide open! My relationship with food has already changed, and I see myself differently in the mirror. The self-loathing has gone!! Incredible.
Lydia, Wokingham
My eating has changed already - my perception of food is different. Thanks.
Francesca, Berkshire
I do feel differently about food, and it does not dominate my life as it once did. I am able to leave food on the plate and not feel guilty. I do eat more healthily.
Marianne, Berkshire
It is good to ignore the cakes and biscuits in the office. No cravings or desire, just happy to watch everyone tuck in.
Liz from Scotland
Hypnotherapy is a fully conscious, deep relaxation. It feels similar to that dreamy state just before you fall asleep or when you’re resting with your eyes closed but still aware. You are always in control and can stop at any time.
In this relaxed state, your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions. We use this to “update the software” of your eating habits:
Instead of relying on sheer willpower, you begin to feel that balanced eating is simply who you are. Hypnotherapy allows new habits and patterns to form in the subconscious mind. You stop fighting with yourself and start working with your mind instead.
You might feel sceptical or worried that it "won't work for you." That is completely normal. Most of my clients say they wish they had done this sooner.
Emotional Eating: You eat when stressed, lonely, bored or tired rather than hungry.
Mindless Snacking: You pick at food automatically, even on a “good” day.
Never Quite Full: You finish what’s on your plate even when you’re satisfied.
Sugar Pull: Chocolate, crisps, bread or snacks feel addictive.
Monday Diets: You restart the same plan every week, then fall off again.
All-or-Nothing: You’re either “being good” or completely off track.
Tried Everything: Diets, pills or plans haven’t led to lasting change.
Food Noise: You think about food far more than you’d like to.
If you recognise yourself here, the issue isn’t willpower: it’s the habits running in the background. Hypnotherapy helps change those patterns so weight loss becomes natural again and I can help you.
If you aren't ready for one-to-one sessions yet, you can begin listening immediately with my Feel Amazing Hypnotherapy App. It features over 60 recordings.
Full Access: Costs less than £1 per week (£45 annual membership or £7.99 monthly).
6 free titles for everyone.
“I really love this app... clear and calming voice. It is working wonders for me.”

Hypnotherapy is not a magic wand, but research suggests it can enhance weight loss when combined with sensible eating and lifestyle changes.
A controlled trial in the International Journal of Obesity found that adding hypnotherapy to standard dietary advice led to significantly greater long-term weight loss compared with diet alone, although the average loss was modest. (Nature)
A more recent evidence-based review reported that, across studies, people receiving hypnosis experienced greater weight loss than control groups, particularly when hypnosis was used alongside behavioural change programmes. (Lippincott Journals)
A 2022 randomised trial using audio self-hypnosis showed improvements in satiety (feeling comfortably full), quality of life and markers of inflammation – all helpful factors when you’re trying to lose weight. (Wiley Online Library)
The Royal College of Psychiatrists notes that hypnotherapy may be effective for people who are trying to lose weight, as it can help change thoughts and behaviours linked to eating. (www.rcpsych.ac.uk)
Alongside this, the NHS emphasises that healthy, sustainable weight loss comes from balanced eating and being more active over time, not extreme crash diets. (nhs.uk) Hypnotherapy fits with this by making it easier to:
Choose balanced meals
Stop when you’ve had enough
Reduce emotional overeating
Stick with movement and healthier routines
In other words, we align your subconscious patterns with the healthy choices you already know will help you.

Gentle daily support for stress, sleep, anxiety, alcohol and habits.
