Release stress, feel calmer and get your life back in balance in 2-4 appointments
Hello, I’m Ailsa Frank. For over twenty years, I have been a leading hypnotherapist in the UK, connecting with clients around the world. I have helped thousands of people (just like you) to break the cycle of stress.
My clients are everyday people: stay-at-home mums, working parents, business owners, single people living alone, celebrities.
Your hypnotherapy appointments with me are designed to help you release the being stressed and address the root causes. I will deal with the emotional root causes and the daily triggers that cause you stress.
Stress release hypnotherapy works at the subconscious level to:
Instead of running on adrenaline all the time, your mind learns a calmer default setting – so you can still get things done, but without the constant strain.
“The tension in my shoulders and back has gone since the hypnotherapy and I’m sleeping properly again. I feel like someone has turned the volume down on everything.”
Helen, Bristol

Hypnotherapy for stress could help if:
I’ll guide you step by step to achieve lasting change.
At home on the phone: I connect with English-speaking clients worldwide (UK, Europe, USA, Australia) via phone or WhatsApp audio, which works exceptionally well for hypnotherapy.
In-Person: I also see clients face-to-face at clinics at the Portland Clinic in Wimpole Street, London (W1) or in St Albans.

90 Minutes: The first half is a relaxed discussion. We talk about what is going on in your life and what you want to work on. We discuss patterns, triggers and goals. In the second half, I guide you through a tailored hypnotherapy session to release root causes and begin making changes immediately. You can cover multiple issues in each session.

60–75 Minutes: These are usually spaced two weeks apart to reinforce the changes and address any new layers that come up. Each session deepens the changes. You can have a top up at time in the future. Some clients like to have regular sessions to deal with life , work and business issues as they arise.

I typically work with clients over 2 to 4 appointments. I believe in a bespoke approach, some hypnotherapists might try to sign you up for a long, expensive course. I don't work that way. I start with a minimum of two appointments, with further sessions booked only based on your individual needs.

After our phone session I felt the most enormous stress release. I’m getting on better with my kids and husband, ‘angry mummy’ has gone. Work is still hectic, but I see it as a phase rather than a life sentence, which makes it easier every day. I’d had counselling before, but the hypnotherapy has been on a different level.
Anna, London
Sunday night sick feeling about going back to work has gone as I actually look forward to work on Monday.
Rachel, Sydney
I am feeling really good at the moment - all down to you and the self-hypnosis I might add. Is that ok? I will definitely be back in touch when I need it as I really feel it is so beneficial
Claire, Seattle
Physical tension in shoulders and back has gone since the hypnotherapy and I am sleeping well.
Emma, Hitchin
I think that the one session I had with you Ailsa did seriously shift a huge emotional blockage that I've carried for at least 30 years - as a consequence, my creativity has gone through the roof, and I am not as anxious as I was before. I look forward to another session very soon. Thank you. I would recommend hypnotherapy to anyone to try.
David, London
I listen to the work relaxation recording on my iPod and find it very relaxing. Thank you.
Tom, Berkshire
Much calmer with the kids and now realise it is my bad energy that affects the whole household negatively. I feel more in control and don't dread every day or feel the overwhelming feeling of not getting everything done.
Sarah, Watford
Since the hypnotherapy, I am managing my stress levels and job well. I do the techniques on the train to work and I find I am more efficient at work getting more done in less time. I don't have the butterflies in my stomach on a Sunday night at the thought of going back to work. Also sleeping well.
Janet, St Albans
Very good, felt fantastic after my sessions, ready to face anything. Sorry I have not been in touch but to be really honest, I have been feeling so much better since our sessions, I have been doing self-hypnosis technique. Thank you very much for your help, you are a star!
James, High Wycombe
I found that the treatment helped me to put situations into a box and deal with them in order of importance.
Megan, Berkshire
Have been a much calmer parent.
Sophie, Berkshire
Ailsa taught me techniques to manage my thoughts and control anxiety and the hypnotherapy part has shifted my stress.
Holly, Enfield
Think of hypnotherapy as a fully conscious, deep relaxation. Hypnosis feels like a deep, peaceful relaxation – a bit like daydreaming. You stay fully conscious and in control; you can open your eyes or move at any time.
The Royal College of Psychiatrists describes hypnotherapy as a type of psychological therapy that uses hypnosis to help treat certain mental and physical health conditions and to change habits.
In this relaxed feeling, your mind is more open to positive suggestions so you can make deep changes. You may feel :
Hypnotherapy helps to retrain your nervous system and helps you make everyday lifestyle changes.
You might feel sceptical or worried that it "won't work for you." That is completely normal. Most of my clients say they wish they had done this sooner.
Always On: You feel tense all day and struggle to relax.
Racing Mind: Your thoughts won’t switch off, especially at night.
Sunday Dread: Anxiety builds as the week ahead approaches.
Hidden Habits: Drinking alone, hiding bottles, or drinking to sleep.
Physical Tension: Tight shoulders, jaw clenching, headaches or stomach knots.
Snappy Moods: You feel irritable, overwhelmed or emotionally drained.
Unhelpful Coping: You rely on alcohol, food, screens or scrolling to switch off.
High-Functioning: You cope outwardly but feel close to burnout inside.
Pushing Through: You keep going, but nothing really changes.
If you answered "yes" to any of these, you just need the right tools to change and I can help you.
If you aren't ready for one-to-one sessions yet, you can begin listening immediately with my Feel Amazing Hypnotherapy App. It features over 60 recordings.
Full Access: Costs less than £1 per week (£45 annual membership or £7.99 monthly).

While research is still developing, several studies and reviews support using hypnosis as part of stress management:
A systematic review of nine randomised controlled trials found that hypnotic interventions reduced perceived stress and improved coping in healthy but stressed adults, though sample sizes were small and more rigorous research is needed. Fisch et al., 2017
A multicentre trial of group hypnosis for stress reduction reported improved stress coping and psychological well-being in people with high perceived stress. Fisch et al., 2020 – BMC Complementary Medicine
A 2024 overview of hypnosis meta-analyses reported that hypnosis is widely used in clinical practice, with practitioners rating stress reduction, anxiety and enhancing well-being as areas where hypnosis is often highly effective. Rosendahl et al., 2024 – Frontiers in Psychology
A 2024 experimental study showed that a single hypnosis session with a post-hypnotic safety suggestion produced a large reduction in stress ratings after an acute laboratory stress test, with benefits lasting at least a week. Schmidt, Rohleder & Engert, 2024 – Scientific Reports
Broader research on stress management interventions (including mind-body and relaxation approaches) shows medium positive effects on biological stress markers like cortisol, suggesting that psychological stress-reduction techniques can help the body as well as the mind.

Gentle daily support for stress, sleep, anxiety, alcohol and habits.
