Daily Mail first-person account by Cerys Ashcomb about her double life as a police detective and cocaine addiction.
In this first-person Daily Mail story, written under the pseudonym Cerys Ashcomb, a former police detective describes the double life she led while addicted to cocaine and alcohol and £50,000 in debt, after an abusive relationship drew her into drug use. AA and NA meetings and counselling helped her understand how she had become an addict, but not how to quiet the cravings.
Cerys had one-to-one hypnotherapy sessions with Ailsa for both cocaine and alcohol. She describes three sessions in which Ailsa guided her into deep relaxation to reduce cravings, reframe her thinking around addiction and build healthier choices, alongside listening to Ailsa’s recordings at night.
She relapsed a few times between sessions, but by the end she could walk past a wine bar with no urge to drink or take cocaine. She says she is now clean and sober, has changed career to work for a children’s charity, and has rebuilt her life.
